Nope. It reeks insecure and uptight.

DH and I have no kids yet, but I do several girls weekends per year and he does Atleast a guys snowboarding weekend as well. The rest of our outings and week long vacations are together.

I didn’t get married or have children to vacation without them. It reeks of a trouble marriage.

I've always had more vacation than my spouse. I never used to take it, except days here and there. And then of course maternity leave used up all my sick and a good portion of my annual leave.

But now (non-covid times) i do take vacations with the kids, I stay on vacations without my spouse longer (e.g. at my family's home), and will take a trip with friends should that arise.

it's foolish not to. Plus, even if DH has the time ... he doesn't LIKE getting away. I think he might be biding his time here and just waiting until the kids are out of the house to divorce me.

Once a year I go on a vacation without DH or the kids with my best friends from back home. I also take my kids back home to visit (3 times a year) without DH. Never been an issue for us, we have a happy marriage.

We did this once, before kids. I wanted to go on an African safari DH had zero interest in, and he wanted to tour some European cities to visit museums which I wasn’t thrilled about. I went with some girlfriends and he went with his parents. Everyone was happy.

I don't do that. If I go on vacation, I want my husband with me.

If you have the leave and he doesn’t, then go. We have done a wide variety of things over the years and have been perfectly happy. It doesn’t “spell trouble” either.
