Honestly has your couch never been peed on or puked on before? Just clean it and air out the room.

Next time the girl is over (if you have her again- your choice of course) remind her to use the restroom regularly.

Just the type of stuff that happens with small kids IMO

Oh my god, this happened to me. It was a leather couch and the stain never came out. I put a throw blanket over that spot and that blanket is never allowed to be moved. Seeing that stain pisses me off.

No, because now there's an actual accident, so it justifies another talk, more practical this time. Why are people such prudes? This isn't about shaming anyone, it's about helping this little girl.

I wouldn't let her in my living room again, but I probably wouldn't say anything to the neighbors. Why did you have her sitting on your couch when they told you that she has frequent accidents? If someone went out of their way to tell me their child wasn't potty trained, I wouldn't have them sitting on my couch.

OP here. Thanks for your input. I think for now I’m not going to say anything to the parents but I will say something on the side to the woman we hired that she needs to make sure all the kids take frequent bathroom breaks because this one girl tends to have accidents.

I’m going to try cleaning it again myself using pet cleaner and if that doesn’t work I’ll get it professionally cleaned. I’ll have to chalk this one up to 2020 striking again!

+1 so I could make sure she goes to the bathroom on a regular basis to ward off future accidents. To remind her that sometimes you have to stop playing to take care of business, etc. Not to shame, but to reinforce.
