Your husband may not be a creepy person but that is a creepy thing to do. Even if your daughters don’t say anything about it, I’d be willing to bet it makes them at least a little uncomfortable and maybe they don’t know how to feel about it since it’s their dad who they presumably love and otherwise feel comfortable with but it’s inappropriate especially at their ages (but, frankly, I think, at any age)

I come from a family of butt smackers—my otherwise fairly reserved grandmother used to gently smack her grandkids’ and kids’ bums when we walked by. My dad used to do the same to us, though not that often. I didn’t like it, but I’ve caught myself a couple of times swatting my kids’ bums as they walk by. I was doing it affectionately and without thinking, but they think it’s bizarre (it is, honestly, in this day and age) so I’ve made a point of stopping.

It's probably sending a wrong message.

Dad of teen girls here. I would never. But I secretly love the hell out of it when they snuggle with me on the couch.

I smack my boys' butts. Oldest is 12, though. I tell them it's time for a spanking because I don't like how tall they are getting when I walk by. They giggle. It's not a big deal. But, they are not 15 year old girls so it's different.
