Wait what? Weird. I have lots of friends with only 1 kid. For a variety of reasons. For several of them, that child is a girl. For some, it's a boy. Not a single couple decided to stay at only 1 child because of the sex/gender of the child. It was because they only wanted, or could only have, 1 child.

Um... what? The male heir? Are you and your friends royalty/aristocracy? What is this male inheriting? Is the implication here that anyone who has a daughter must then continue to have more children in a quest for a male child? Just trying to untwist this logic...

Geez. Even the Queen of England agreed to change the line of succession so that the oldest child would inherit regardless of sex.

Umm I just wanted one child and not more? Son is 13 and we are as happily married as any happily married couple.

There are many reasons a couple would only have one child. Also, it seems girls are generally more desired these days (at least among the people I know).
