$15 an hour. They'll be occupied and she'll be doing a whole lot of nothing. My kids did online classes last spring and our nanny barely did anything all morning.

Do not pay under the table. Pay legally. If you don't it can come back to bite you. Among other things, you cannot take off on your taxes if you don't bpay legally!

We had a friend fined I think $4000 -$5000 in penalties by the IRS and also had to pay back taxes for paying a caregiver in cash.

Whether she needs it or not, legally, OP is required to do taxes and pay unemployment insurance.
This. Check the IRS code. If you are paying her 30-40 hours per week you will quickly meet the threshold for legally requiring to pay unemployment and do taxes.
