Under Armour should really ban kids from attending more than one try out. If you don’t make it in one city you shouldn’t be allowed to try again in another. Of course that takes away revenue from Corrigan so they will never do it.

So many politics involved in DC area lacrosse, especially girls lacrosse. A lot of the top players skip these events because they know how to works. Same coaches volunteering and getting their players on the team. They get their girls some accolades and then flip it like they are a great organization to get more $$$. It's a racket. Unfortunately some of the worst coaches get these coaching/evaluators position to help their teams and sometimes their own kids.

Agree with PP. Not so sure this event has become more of a parent ego thing than a player thing. It's certainly a money-grab. Know of many girls that have gone on to accept top D1 offers in the past several years that have passed on this event.

She said some are very strong players. She also mentioned some strong players getting passed over yesterday. Incorrect. More of the top players were missing than were there. It was blaringly obvious. So many of the best players didn’t bother to come this year.

Lots of Pride and Capital in the Command game but I think 75% of the players were from Baltimore. (30% mentioned earlier is low) Baltimore players dominated. There were also at least 25 yellow jackets there.

Easy to say the top players weren't there, but how do you really know if you don't try? And since the team is DC, MD, VA not really surprised to see M&D, Integrity, Heros in full force.

Sorry to hear she feels this way, but understandable. Sounds like she is a competitor and wants the best for the team. It's disappointing the event can't get all of the top players to attend tryouts. Capital and Pride are probably the two top 2023 teams from VA. Wonder how many of them attended and how many made the final group.

My dd made the final game in Command and in talking to her last night, I think she almost wishes it gets cancelled if she makes as she is worried that some of the girls that got called back aren’t ready for prime time against top talent on teams in 23/24 and the results won’t be good if they play.

Was not the Command division. My DD made a comment about being surprised some of the better players in her age group not trying out. Based on comments here it's easy to understand why. If total counts matter then VAM appeared to place the most players in the final game. Very few Capital players in the final group. Could have been because their players didn't tryout or they simply got passed over by others. Do agree the selfish play was a problem. This is as much a parent issue as a player issue.

This thread sounds like a bunch of pissed of parents that their kid did not make the UA team. Happens every year no matter what sport. Bottom line it does matter if you make the team or not. All that matters is a college coach like you or not. If you want to play at the next level.

Speaking for the Highlight tryouts, at least the Richmond contingent was able to combat the Capital bias and politics a bit by having the dad of one of the Yellow Jackets South players be an evaluator. Smart move on their part and further evidence Corrigan doesn’t care about the result, just the money.

But, I did count roughly 15 or so girls in the call back game from Baltimore High Schools. So say 30% of the 44. So much for repping your region, UA and Corrigan?? And what the heck with the DC coaches??? That doesn't help build your program or your area when you take girls, that I will assume, didn't make the Baltimore team!!

Last time my daughter go's anywhere near a Corrigan event, because it is not what you say it is.
