I have literally never noticed how many closed holes a person has in their ears. It’s not like it’s a disfiguring scar!

While I think it's fine and can assure you no one bats an eye at a 3rd lobe piercing, it's also entirely likely she'll grow out of the desire to keep up with the piercings once she's older. I'm 31 and from my teen years through college, I got just about every ear piercing I could think of, plus my nose for a time, and now I have to remember to put studs in my FIRST lobe hole every now and then (having removed the others little by little in my early/mid 20s). Over time, especially when you venture into the cartilage, the upkeep can get tedious and the allure just fades. Let her have this for now.

My 13 yo has 3 piercings. Neither she nor I care what anyone thinks. No one has commented on it. And if they are secretly judging, we can live with that. She's a straight A, honor student, and athlete. The piercings do not change that. But, as you've deemed it "trashy" I'm guessing you should probably say no to her request.

And, just a little pro tip, ear piercings have this amazing ability to be REMOVED for job interviews and such.

Not really, when I take mine out you have to be really close to see the holes.

Well, what I think is that I'm not a fan of anything more than one piercing in each ear. But who cares what I think? She is 15--she doesn't need to be "professional." Let her have fun with her appearance now. When she is older and looking to be professional, she can take it out.

I think it's fine - not worth fighting this battle. It's easy enough to take out an earring when she's older.

IMO, let her get it. It’s a way she wants to express herself, she’s a good kid, and the holes can close.

I was a top student, steered clear of alcohol and drugs, but went through a HS and college phase of extensive piercings (face and all the way up my ears). It was important to me. I took them all out when I started interviewing for good jobs (after my second graduate degree).

Our CEO has full sleeves. It makes no difference, but if your DD wants to become a receptionist or something then she may have to follow aesthetic rules to comfort the elderly.
