We will keep working at home (while attending virtual K) and if by next summer I feel she has mastered 1st grade content, I will put her straight on 2nd grade. But I want the leeway that repeating K will give me, in case she actually needs to attend 1st grade.
If my kid was coming out of pre-k now, I would just redshirt her while working at home and if I felt she was ready, enroll straight on 1st grade next year.
How does this work? Do parents just get to unilaterally decide? Didn’t you have to consult multiple times with the teacher and principal? Curious because I have a September birthday and don’t know how to approach it
