I've told this story before but I know one person who had an accurate weight guess (not based on a scan) - her doctor told her the baby would be about 7 1/2 lbs and when she was born she was 7lbs 8oz. My friend told her doctor at the 2 day appointment "I can't believe you could tell that just based on feel!" and the doctor admitted she tells everyone their baby will be about 7 1/2 lbs because most babies are about 7 1/2 lbs.
I was told my daughter was going to be 7.5 pounds. She was born a day after her due date and was 7 pounds 4 oz. In my case, pretty accurate.

Congrats OP. Adding my example to the list. Growth scan at 34 weeks said baby was well over 6 lbs (cant remember exact ounces). I had a minimum of 5 weeks to go. I was v. worried shed be macrosomic or otherwise huge; for the record my OB was not worried. The baby was born 39+3 and weighed 7lbs, 9 oz. Growth scan defin. off.

My first pregnancy was twins, they induced me at 36+2 when the ultrasound "showed" both twins were over 6 pounds. No other reason for the induction other than "babies are big enough to come out, so let's get them out." One baby was 4 pounds 10 ounces, other was 5 pounds 1 ounce. Both ended up in the NICU.
Went to a midwife for my second, singleton pregnancy. No ultrasounds after 20 weeks, even at 35 years old. 4 days before delivery, midwife used her hands to estimate 8 pounds, 2 ounces. Baby was 8 pounds even.

Mine was accurate but my baby was incredibly average in size and length for gestational age and sat exactly on the 50th percentile for everything the entire pregnancy.

Growth scan at 34 weeks said baby was already over 6lbs and I had at least 5 weeks to go. I skipped all newborn clothes, was terrified of macrosomic baby Etc. born 39+3 weighed 7lbs, 6oz.
