I haven’t heard that. Does that mean kids working at home won’t get individual corrections online? I find that surprising given how well the summer intensive programs went. Many had one teacher demonstrating and another watching and giving corrections. And another handling IT issues.

CityDance will start all virtual and then add hybrid with very small groups in studio by October if the guidelines and restrictions stay the same. We will choose virtual only, although I believe the school and conservatory is adhering to the safety protocols and we may change our mind. I’m not sure how they will handle the registration process if more students accept hybrid as an option than capacity allows. I guess we will wait and see. Overall, I am impressed with CityDance’s negotiation of this changing landscape. DD finished last season on Zoom and has spent most of her summer in intensives. They have been excellent. Feeling good about fall. Those who see online dance as a poor substitute or money grab are missing the point. This is our reality, and I’m grateful a few high quality programs are working hard to remain an important part of students’ lives. DD would not be the same happy resilient kid without dance.
I have a question about citydance: do you know whether these will be dedicated online classes or just a livestream from the in-person class? From their recent emails I’m suspecting it’ll be the kattet, but I’d love to be wrong! I’ve been asking but they’re being evasive.

- 4 students per class in person. Masked entire time, (Dancers and teachers) separate doors to enter and exit. Other students participating through zoom. Extensive cleaning between classes
7 and under are all still on zoom. The older girls are signing up for slots to come in the studio if they choose too.
