Because Teddy is a horrible name- or nickname- for girl.

I think it’s good to give people options for as they age. A female Teddy is unlikely to go by Ted so Theodora or Theodosia offer lots of options.

Theodosia just makes me think of Hamilton. I really do like Theodora. I worry about it going the way of Roberta (feminine version too strange to use) but don’t think it should so you should use it.

With teddy the first thing that comes to mind is a lingerie garment.

I love both of these OP. I have a cousin Theodosia and we've always called her Thea. Named after a grandmother.
