Yes- we have been super super cautious, but we go to the pool. It has been SO good for me and my kids. They were thrilled yesterday to get to go 'play' in the pool, and not be limited to lap swimming or going off the diving board. The tables and chairs are spaced 10 feet apart. There are lots of reminders about staying 10 feet away from other people in the pool. Did I see my kids get closer than 10 feet to some other kids? Yeah, but just kids- they are safer to be around than adults. Plus, there is a health screening to enter the pool. Plus, the COVID rate in NOVA is pretty low right now. I feel very comfortable at the pool.

We've been going every day. They started allowing rec swim but families need to stay 10 feet away from each other.

Except you get it though breathing in close contact, so the chlorine factor is meaningless.

My kid goes to the pool three times a week for swim team, plus once or twice more to swim with friends. Until today they reserved separate lanes or spots for the dive well; starting tomorrow they could technically get together in the half of the pool designated for recreational swim and they can line up to dive without a reservation specifically for that. I doubt she'll want to do much of that since they'll still have to maintain 10' distance, so it's no fun, plus I'm fairly sure that one of her friends won't be allowed to do rec swim and will be sticking to reserved lap lanes. But I'll book whatever she wants, whether it's a general club reservation so she can hang out and/or dive, or a lap lane reservation for distanced swimming. She's 13 and I trust her to follow the rules.

+1

And it has made a real improvement in our family life. In exchange for extremely low risk, so it is a good deal.

+2. I have been all in on isolating since March, but decided to take the risk this week because I have been feeling exhausted, depressed, and hopeless. We have gone twice this week, and it has greatly improved my spirits. Our pool has reservations to limit capacity and we stay far away from others (in the deep end). We can only stay for two hours, we don't use the bathroom, and basically get in, stay away from people, and get out. I know there is risk, but I feel so much better.

We’ve been going almost daily for a couple of weeks, in addition to swim team. It’s fantastic because the sign ups have only been half full, so there’s lots of open pool space.

Yes, I’ve been doing it, and I don’t even go in stores.

I was more open to it until I read an article posted on DCUM which basically said that chlorine isn’t perfect and needs time to work and can get diluted. It convinced me to stick with our kiddie pool. Especially since we have high risk family members.

We've been going - we are in Virginia - since phase 3 lifted there is little social distancing by the kids. . .

We went today. It was fine. There were a few other people there, everyone stayed away from each other.
