Really? I thought coffee is a diuretic but not dehydrating per se. Why doesn't diet soda hydrate like water? It is basically water, no? Wouldn't beer and wine also be hydrating unless alcohol content is super high? Didn't people drink beer for centuries instead of water? If I am not thirsty how would I know I am dehydrated?
Nothing hydrates you as well as water. Everything else is diluted somehow. When I was chronically dehydrated, I had headaches and fatigue a lot. Once I started making sure I got enough water, that all went away.
