Seen by whom? You? I know a lot of couples, including us, who are both responsible for birth control (in different ways). I think it depends on your upbringing and education level (the expectation for a man).

In my 20s mostly every guy I dated came prepared with condoms. There was a couple of guys that I cut off because they didn’t want to use one. I started birth control pills because I got into a serious relationship and I knew I didn’t want a child. It was my insurance policy.

What do you mean, conditioned to believe? That women bear children and all the risks of pregnancy and childbirth is a fact, not an opinion. Men don't die in childbirth.

Btw, no one has to prove "our independence and true feminism", one just has to have a way to avoid a pregnancy.

So basically women should and do accept all responsiblity for birth control because they get pregant.

We should not expect men to participate in this because they don't like condoms, and are irresponsible.

We should not demand oral or injectable contraceptives be developed and used for men because they probably wouldn't take them properly.

Wanting men to take responsibility is antifeminist.

The only feminist option is to assume all responsibility for birth control.

Honestly I don’t think it is mine? I’ve never taken hormonal BC. We use condoms/pull out.

It is my responsibility because I bear the child. Responsible men also think the same way (ie it is their responsibility because they will be responsible for a child that they help make). Boys cede responsibility and leave it to the women, taking no responsibility.

I never used BCP because of hormonal side effects and the propensity to breast cancer in my family. Always used condoms. Never had a guy that i was serious with complain. They were all men, not boys.

Everyone is responsible for themselves. The only non surgical choice for men is condoms, so I tell my teen boys to ALWAYS use them.

Similarly, women should be responsible for their birth control as well.

As long as women get 100% control over aborting a baby, they will be 100% responsible for birth control. My body, my choice. Except when it's not. Am I right?
