I dated two other people I could be happily married to. I was always a good judge of character. Most of the men I dated went in to be successful and good family men.

This made me sad. Grateful that I waited and married the right guy for me.

We met young and I never seriously dated anyone else. There are times that a particular issue seems like someone else would be easier (like my mom and his dad are hard for us to deal with) but overall he’s been a good friend, lover and father. I have no way of knowing whether someone else would have been all that and more and - since we’re often (but of course not always) happy - there’s no use in wondering anyways.

Lord, yes.

Oh well. I am making the best of it.

Oh the tears I cried for so the guys I thought were “the one”. And now I’m so grateful that they never worked out. DH isn’t perfect but he’s perfect for me.

Should have? No. But there are two where we probably could have made it work and had a good marriage, but we weren't in the right life stage or location to think seriously about marriage.

^He looked so old, even when he was 30

Yea. I was crazy about him but knew my family would look down on him (he's not conventionally attractive and doesn't earn much - I don't care about those things but I was terrified what my family would say).

10 years later, I got divorced and we gave it another shot. So far it's amazing.

Yuck. Thankfully you dodged a bullet!

It's an old lady thing, you wouldn't understand.

For never ending BJs, yes. For a spouse, no.

Same.

Nope, DH was the best decision I've ever made in my life.

I have a past love that was much stronger, magnetic, electric. Someone that my soul yearned for in unimaginable ways. But he was on a path to nowhere and I knew it. He's still working the same job as when we were 19, has a DUI, lives in a shit hole. I only wish he could see himself and his potential as I could.

My DH is loving, loyal, dedicated, a motivated worker, absolutely amazing father, and so caring. We have built a wonderful life and are truly happy

Yes, maybe so. Can never be sure, though, right?!

Not exactly anyone specific. I was very immature in my 20's, and passed on some guys who I now realize probably had more of what I'm looking for.
