A close third is the commute to get her to practices (assuming you will take her or help with car pooling). If she’s on the 2nd/3rd team at the big club, the decision should not be about prestige - that ship has sailed - it should be much more basic. Rough justice, but that’s how it is. My daughter is in a similar boat - size, speed, skill, but just can’t put it together at speed and doesn’t have the aggression or soccer IQ, so she’s always on the 2nd team. So we let her develop at her own pace and make sure she’s on a team that gives her a lot of touches. And she’s just fine.

You do not want to be in the CCL2. Last year our DD team played 2 games in September and one in October. That was it for the league games.

Times have changed. If you want to play college soccer you have to be on an ECNL or GA team by u13. So it matters. It is very rare for a player who is not on an ECNL or GA team make an ECNL or GA after u13. So OP’s dd is not looking to play college soccer.
The CCL2 will give OP’s dd 3-4 games per season vs 8 with other leagues. So basically half the games of other leagues. Yes the league you are in matters. The system is totally broken.
Anonymous wrote:No you should not. You should signed her out of any soccer and have a kid that doesn't' have an insane soccer parent.

Anonymous wrote:She wants to switch because a few top players left for big club (top team). She is being offered a #2 team spot. I say we because I’m hesitant to leave the current club which is like a family. I’m worried she will switch and regret it and then I don’t know that we can go back. She wants the prestige of the big club name. I’m worried it won’t be what she thinks it will be. I don’t know much about soccer but I’m going to be driving her all over to practices and games, and paying for it, so I’m part of the decision too!
