Also, there are plenty of Uber rich families in NW DC, Bethesda, and Alexandria. Most of them just fly under the radar. I think having a 7 figure income and feeing average is not unusual at any area private (at least, the 40K ones).

But there’s something about mclean and Potomac.... people there just NEED to advertise their wealth. I don’t know if it’s a new money thing or what, but it’s a real turn off for many (myself included).

We got into Langley, Nysmith, and Potomac and chose. . Nysmith, but honestly all three were fantastic. We ended up looking at the personality of our child and their academics to make the decision.
Positives for Langley - amazing parent network, TONS of community, VERY nurturing, the camp there is also wonderful, academics ramp up in later years and the kids do great for high school admissions.

Langley parent here. Yes the head was very well liked and we are sad to see her go. The incoming head of school does seem very promising as well. We were very happy with distance learning this year ( rising first grader) but of course are hoping for more in person time this fall. Are they any okay privates for 2020-21 school year accepting? W rare fine with robust DL, just things like Laurel Springs is just a correspondence course.
