Well, because we live in a small space and it would be too loud inside the house and plus it's a gorgeous day. We do have lots of nearby neighbors, but if the neighbors are inside their home, I think they would hear it, but just barely. If they were hanging outside, they'd definitely hear it.![]()
Well at any rate, he didn't play for long, maybe 10 minutes. But I often wonder if they are making too much noise outside and our neighbors are bothered by their whelps and hollering. But I feel like there is not much else they can do, and they have been told that they can not do so many things, like go see their friends, go to the zoo, etc.

My kid plays the drums and even inside with sound proofing you can slightly hear it outside. Being outside would be horrible. But, hey, raise as selfish kid like you and don't complain in a few years about behavior.
A child's tambourine drum is nothing like a full drum kit. It's not comparable.
A tambourine is very loud.

We're in a tightly knit suburb with tiny lots. So the houses yards are all right up against each other. Honestly there are a lot of people who complain on neighborhood sites for this reason - about everything from construction work, fire pits, outdoor music.
And I know people run the gamut from not caring to being ultra sensitive. For example, one neighbor complained to our next door neighbor because they had a family member over working on refinishing their deck and were playing music while working. They were 3 houses down! And I was right next door and I didn't even register the music/noise - it was just background noise. But for my neighbor, it was offensive enough for her to walk over and complain about it.

If its too loud inside, its worse outside. Why are you asking when you don't care if it bothers anyone else?

It's amazing - but not surprising I guess - that a 5 year old playing a tambourine in their yard is seen as "a selfish kid" on this board. Sigh...
