Previous posters who switched from daycare to nanny- do you plan to stick with nanny even after we reach vaccine/open back up? If not, were you upfront about this when hiring and did you have trouble finding candidates?

Op I hear you. We did daycare for our first and planned to do it for our second. Now we have turned to a nanny for both because I was concerned about covid and missing work for 3 days for every run of the mill illness (x2 kids) let alone covid. We have a good nanny and I am still anxious because of the state of the world and if she gets covid (even though she is careful) we will too. This is hard. No right answer.

Meant $2500/month, not week. If you factor in hourly wage of at least $20/hr, probably a lot more than that, how is a nanny remotely less than paying for daycare, even if it's not in a federal building? And FYI, the federal daycares are not significantly less than then non-fed ones.
