I have 3 friends who divorced:

-2 Chinese-American woman (married white guy)
-1 white couple

Almost no one in my Hispanic family is still in their first marriage. This goes back to my grandmother, whose marriage was not at all successful, although she never officially divorced. I don't know if we are outliers, however, for an Hispanic family.

+1. I'm also a south asian woman married to a white husband, and we have a very strong marriage. I agree with everything you said, and add that I learned a lot from a few relationships in my younger days with white men who, i can see now, were kind of racist and felt I was an "other." When I met my husband it was much more clear to me that he was truly not racist.

I think the best age is 28. Anything before or after and the divorce rate goes up. I could google it but I'm lazy, as, apparently, are you.

Black woman here--I'm curious about why this would be (and I'm also biracial, as my black mom married my South Asian dad). I can't think of any reason that wouldn't be purely speculative.

Another black woman here. Married 9 years to a white man. We have talked about this and I don't have anything but a similar comment - we worked hard up front to understand each other, even if our parents didn't. DH is very aware of his privilege and works hard for us. There's always something new to learn, but it keeps us on our toes in terms of improving communications. I also don't put up with sh*t so there's that.
