OP here. I guess it’s not just that they are making it harder for me to get out, but it’s also that if we were to do it, it would block the drive way such that neither car would be able to turn sufficiently to get out. If we can’t both do it, I don’t think either should do it. I feel like they should have thought about this prior to buying 2 gigantic cars if they plan to park like this.

Op, it’s fine. They are not blocking access, they are just making it a bit tougher for you to get in and out. It’s not ideal, but just be a bit more careful backing out and all will be fine.

I realize this isn't helpful, but this right here is why we have never even looked at a house with a share driveway.

Talk to them and if they don't get off your side, then block in their car each time with yours and they will have to call you to get it out.

Shared driveways can be hard. When they work, life is great but when they don't then … Is there any way you can expand the narrow area or just go on the grass or over the curb? It is hard to visualize the problem. Otherwise, perhaps a big heavy planter at the apex so that there is an obvious need for them to clear that point to leave the access area free for you to use.

If they hit your car it goes through insurance and they pay to fix it. A camera is a good idea.

It is not the neighbors driveway. It’s a shared driveway meaning that both neighbors have easements to use it to get to their garages. Imagine a Y shape and the neighbors are all but blocking the exit. Not okay.

It’s one driveway between 2 houses that expands to 2 side by side parking areas. Their cars are encroaching onto the are that narrows to one driveway

So it is their driveway and they park on it, without invading your driveway? I dont see a problem.

Is it their property, or an easement? If it's an easement then they might not be allowed to park there if the other person says it's affecting their right of way. Do you have a written agreement?

Can you back in to your garage? This way, you can Go forward leaving your garage/driveway.
