I know.. I am crying every time I think about him, every time I see the image on the news. I can not imagine what he has been through those short minutes that must have last the lifetime. I can not wrap my head around this.

Anyone else haunted by the image of David Dorn laying dying on the ground for 13 minutes while looters go in and out? Its horrifying to even read about so why all this more senseless killing

I’m a wreck for the same reasons, OP. I can’t stop thinking about him calling for his mother - that deep and primal urge for a mother’s love - it chokes me up again and again. His bond with his mother was so strong that he called out for her even though she had died two years earlier.

The news today is so mixed. There are stories that will rip your soul and stories that will restore your belief in mankind. You sound like such a wonderful, sensitive person. God bless you.

For me personally, it breaks my heart that this man got himself into such a situation. It was tragic that he apparently had taken the wrong path i.e. drugs and counterfeit money. These are crimes which should not be punishable by death much less without a trial. He may have been very resistant to being restrained, which made for tough calls by the arresting officers.

I also weep for the young people who are being used by an unknown party to commit acts of terrisom. The very fact that they are being used to throw the bricks placed around town probably for that purpose is soooo sad. I weep for the victims of their rage and improper behavior. This is not grief. It is more like a temper tantrum and they should have rec’d proper parenting on this behavior years ago. The very fact that they are unable or unwilling to make good choices is a heart breaking matter.

But I rejoice at the pictures I see of people hugging no matter the color of skin, people praying, and ministries that are offering an ear to hear and hope for tomorrow. As for me I don’t need to watch videos that will haunt my memory. I just need to know some simple facts, so that I can do what I feel led to do. Right now that is just to pray. God hears and answers our prayers and there is so much to pray for in the world today.

There has been a struggle between good and evil since the time of creation and Adam and Eve. The struggle is real and the struggle will affect us. We have a choice and each one has to make a personal choice. There is hope and there is a better way. Jesus came to earth and offered Himself to take care of man’s sin problem. Again it is a choice of whether or not to accept this.

As far as Mr. Floyd calling out for his Mother. He may have seen her and was actually speaking to her. My mother did that on her deathbed. She called out greeting to her son, who she loved and had gone on before her and was conforted.

This is a sad event. There are many sad events happening today and the media makes sure we know about them. They write the narrative whether it is true or not. But there are other sources that are showing good and hopeful things that are happening. If you are able to see these they will encourage and bless you.

For me, the Bible, the Word of God, brings comfort. In it I see times which have been just as bad as they are right now but I am able to see how God works thru those times and brings hope. This will seem unkind, but the fact that you seem to think that exercising and "eating incredibly well" should somehow insulate you from feeling emotions about the horrible things happening points to an under-developed character. The world can be a dark, sad place. You eating organic with your husband and beautiful child doesn't change that.

Is everything only black and white for you? The point is all the bad happening in the world. Its been happening for centuries and most of us are shielded from it as it doesn't happen near us but social media lets us all be connected. Media is the difference. These things happen with all races, genders, nationalities and in all countries.
