It is true that 25 seats are reserved for inbound TPMS students, but they go through the same testing process. You are touching a third rail to suggest that it's easier for them to get a spot.

2-The kids who get in to the magnets are mostly white and Asian. They bring high ses to Silver Spring, except it’s already there.


Takoma Park is not Silver Spring.


Takoma Park Middle School is within the city of Takoma Park. The boundary line is the street in front of the school. Across the street it's Silver Spring.


If we're being exact, the boundary is Takoma Avenue, not Piney Branch. So Silver Spring starts one long block up from the middle school.

Sounds like Takoma Park Coalition is hoarding yet again. It is inequitable for the premier programs to be in a corner of the county. There poor kids are spending way too much time on the bus.
