+1 my DH has lost something like 50lbs. He's lean (and tall.. over 6'), BUT, he still has a bit of a gut. It's the visceral fat. There is hardly any fat I can grab on his gut, but he still has a bit of a paunch.

I am male and the same age as you and drink a lot more but have six pack abs. Unfortunately, there is no short cut. You need to keep going with the calorie deficit to lose the belly fat. I eat a lot but usually quite healthily. But I also do a huge amount of cardio and also do core and strength three or four times per week.

You probably need more exercise now too. Getting rid of weight is HARD. Remember, 1lbs is about 3500 calories, so even if you cut 500 calories per day it can take one week just to lose 1 lbs. It can take quite a long time to lose 20 lbs. Slow steady progress OP.
