That isn't what it says. It recommends an A/B schedule, small classes, and options for distance learning until there is a vaccine or a cure. I agree that is still crazy, but it doesn't mean no school until the vaccine.


Crazy half assed schedules and no fun parts of school until there’s a farming vaccine, that could be years of our kids childhood.

It’s way too cautious. If we are in phase two or three, which is gatherings of 50 or more people, a normal classroom of 20-30 kids is fine.

No, there are a lot of social downsides to that. Logistically feeding all these kids outside of school is a disaster. Plus, school is the safest place for a lot of kids in DC and they are getting lost in the system otherwise. I think the plan is too cautious. Just put the kids back and see what happens. We can both work remotely and are considering renting in a district where kids are going back to school more consistently. We just lost a third of this year and I am not losing another year.

Sounds similar over here! My husband bought a a shaker set, and we are now systematically going through our hard liquor--which we hadn't touched in years! Margarita on the rocks with salt rim was delicious.


You're my kind of people! I've been circulating between a good homemade marg (with chili salt rim), vodka & whatever Lacroix I have, the classic rum & coke & lime and caipirinhas. And wine when I want to be more reasonable.

She definitely won't out and out say it, especially now, but PP is right. Don't kid yourselves. If there's no vaccine, there's not going to be school.
