Perhaps we should close all the other comprehensive high schools and send all the kids to Wilson. Deal could be relocated and Wilson could expand by taking over the Deal building. Too bad they opened the swimming pool at Wilson as that could have been used to create more space.
“Wilson for All” I love it. The Wilson principal would love this plan. She is most certainly looking to move up and this would make her a very powerful principal indeed.

Once again, the OOB Wilson kids -- or, for that matter, kids who are OOB for any school or go to a charter -- should be the ones filling their underenrolled IB schools if they're so desirable.

Anacostia has maybe 200 students max. Coolidge - not more than 350. DCPS seems to have no idea how to run high schools as all these schools are doing terribly. Anacostia and Ballou both just went through complete redesign processes. Lot of money was spent on redesign. Let’s see if they are successful at attracting and retaining students.

No one wants students already enrolled at Wilson to be tossed out. We are talking about stemming the flow of future OOB kids into Wilson.

No, they automatically transfer all kids from Deal and Hardy to Wilson, even the ones who already filled out the paperwork to say they are going to private school for 9th, then they "unenroll" them from Wilson even though they never actually enrolled.
This is what happens---all the Deal and Hardy kids are enrolled at Wilson even those who move out of area (many international families use this point to move) or go to Catholic or independent schools.
This is the 23% withdrawal rate.
