I can’t believe it. Paid for the whole summer....I don’t even care about that but it just shows true when they talk about supporting small biz- just be kind in these unprecedented times.

Whoa. Any others? This is getting scary. I have been worried about the completion schools since the comps will not be likely to run in person events for 18+ months.

This, i have been waiting for the other shoe to drop on our competition team for weeks.

The help they need is lower rents combined with more students but to get more students they need more reasonable tuition which they can't charge because of the higher rent.

so if you want to help, buy a strip mall and rent out the places at lower rents.

Keep in mind Arlington and Alexandria have a lot of dance studios and other kid activities but also have 40% lower income populations. Add in another 20% who are just middle income and have to watch where they spend their dollars. That means that all these small businesses are competing with each other for a small slice of the population.

I don’t understand— their classes at the lower levels seem to be packed, based on their crazy long recitals. I would imagine Spring tuition was not refunded. They usually give students 1-2 free recital tix, so I don’t think they lost a ton of money there.


They spent a lot of money expanding to the McLean location. That location is closing, too, correct?

They will close, everyone will collect unemployment, rents will fall and a new dance studio will open in same place at lower costs. It’s painful, but if people are willing to pay, a business will form.

The risk is that lower costs maybe a symptom of deflation, so it would be better for Feds to keep businesses afloat, but apparently that only works if you know someone and are TBTF

That’s why we have to support these businesses in times like these. I can tell you that we are going to loose some great local activities for kids that give us quality and convenience. The rent in Arlington, McLean, DC is so high and those are not getting PPP loans. Just take a credit if possible. Most of us can still use it down the road. Now most of us will not even get anything from Addagio but think of other businesses too. I wish they came forward with their struggles before making this decision. This is not good.
