It is stressful to try to work and take care of a kid, but between the stress an additional transition will put on her and the risk of kids and staff interacting in a preschool environment, we decided to tough it out at least a few more months.

The daycare dilemma is not getting the attention it deserves

Teacher here. Ours is opening June 1 also, and it is absolutely shocking what we have to do each day. We have to wear face shields and masks, we won’t see the parents at all, we can’t go to the park or out for a walk, only hard plastic toys and we are supposed to keep the kids playing independently as much as possible. I understand it’s necessary for some, but it seems too scary and sterile and cold for kids and I wouldn’t send my own unless I absolutely had to.
PP here. Thank you for your perspective and for caring for our kids. Please stay safe.
We love our daycare because of the interaction with other kids. This sounds necessary, but borderline damaging to young kids who don't understand the change.
Sad all around.
