On future posts, would be great if people could also add whether the camp is DC, MD, or VA, and whether deposits are also being refunded.

I’m curious whether camps are getting different signals from their local jurisdictions about what’s going to be allowed/required in order to open this summer.

They most certainly are, PP. Yes, indeed. I can't stand the position they've taken that it's not their problem if you self-select out. Framing it this way is obnoxious and irresponsible. They have said that there is a likelihood that they will still hold sessions since they've been approached by groups representing essential workers in need of care for their children.

The lost of trust will and should result in significant fall out. Their business model is set upon their longevity. Are we at the fourth or fifth generation of the family at this point? Why jeopardize the goodwill and sense of legacy they've worked so hard to build by not acknowledging the obvious? The optics on this are terrible.

Just give me my deposit back already. Holding out on refunds will only piss people off and have them make different decisions about camp moving forward.

I agree, its a short-sighted approach. But they like Calleva seem to do the majority of their business over the summer and that is likely why.

Are they issuing any credits for next year ?

They are working on alternatives (virtual camps): https://www.summeratsandyspring.org/about/covid-19-updates/
On their facebook page, they said they would offer refunds if you don't want virtual camp.
