With names in the abstract you'll always get some people that love it and some people that hate it. But once the name's attached to a person, all anyone (at least, anyone sane and normal...which admittedly excludes many of us on DCUM, haha) is going to think about is whether they like the person and the name will just be...their name. If one of my friends named their baby Saul I'd automatically think it was cute because babies are cute! And when I meet someone as an adult the only thing I ever think about regarding their name is whether or not I'll forget it next time I meet them.

Love Solomon, too, btw

I’m Jewish. Sounds like an old man name to me. I would use it as a middle name. I could always use Solomon as a first name instead of Saul as well.

I don’t like it. The first thing that comes to mind is: Better call Saul. I’m not sure what makes the difference, but I do like it as a middle name.

Jonathan Saul XName, or David Saul XName vs Saul Jonathan or Saul David.

Yes. I have a Lucy (b early 2000s) and at the time everyone said - oh that’s an old lady name.

Go for it if you like it. You’ll regret it if you don’t. I still regret not going with Albert for my one son. If you like a name, you like it!

It is AWFUL. It's VERY distinctly an old man name, like Bertha.

Name him Sam or Scott and carry the "S" through.
