The problem is you believe that the shortcomings that you perceive are both universally shared and universally valued and correct. Not everyone sees it the same way that you do and they are under no obligation to do so.
So, do what is best for you and those who agree will do the same all on their own.
Thank you for not following your own advice and telling us all about the way the world is (though others may disagree with your values and perspective). I have no illusions that everybody agrees with my perspective. That is why I opine. I also think that most sheep will continue going straight to the slaughterhouse regardless of what we say. But at the margins, perhaps some may retain open minds and change direction. That presumption is based on experience in persuading people. I am sorry you like preaching only to your choir -- usually it is a sign that you cannot preach outside of it. Enjoy your mediocre soccer.

I would not mind that. I think that's what SYC is planing to do for their top teams in the older age groups.
But adding HS soccer is crazy. The kids that did both looked burned out at evening practice...

My son's team played CCL and EDP for last 2 years. Most EDP games were very competitive matches. The CCL matches were a bit more hit or miss, but some good games. It got to be a lot of games though, especially as he really enjoyed HS soccer as well.

They have the same club vs club format like Ecnl/GA ect
CCL is still doing great things even when other leagues are folding and clubs with Ecnl status can’t even field competitive teams in this area in many of their age groups such as metro, most of Bryc teams outside their 03/02 age groups, and some McLean boys teams.
Great clubs like beach fc, SOCA, va legacy play in it outside the northern va area which still makes it a very competitive Leauge.

But I do have all the facts. First, the club v club format doesn't make sense. The idea should be that teams schedule games with teams of similar skill, talent and experience. I know parents in Frederick MD and Potomac MD who travel to the tidewater area to either crush or get crushed by a team down there. EDP is a better model as teams move up or down to the division that is the right fit. I am not promoting EDP but it is better than CCL. There are strong teams in CCL but those teams are not being well-served by the league. If CCl went away, EDP would enter and offer a better platform. Parents need to voice their concerns.

That they would like to play 8 leagues in the fall and spring not 3 in the fall and 4 in the spring.
There are 16 clubs in CCL. your post makes no sense.
Okay so you are saying I am lying? I know what my daughters team schedule was.
I’m saying you are free to change teams or clubs to suit your needs.

Totally agree from vantage point of a rival club. The CCL boys would have benefited from having SYC this year, but SYC definitely benefited from being in EDP playing top MD boys teams, at least in our age group. We would have liked the same and like pro-rel a lot better.

My kids played CCL for years at LMVSC then we switched to SYC and started playing EDP and we liked it so much more, kids and parents.
Even though CCL is a great style of play, EDP has more teams so games are not so repetitive and the level of play is great. I also like that they have tiers based on performance, making it more competitive.
However, SYC says they're going to CCL for the next season. why, why...

My kids CCL team plays CCL and then plays EDP as well
i dont get your concern about moving over to EDP if clubs are already doing so in addition to their CCL schedule

The market will decide. You can relax.
CCL is a regional league and frankly EDP has a very small VA presence. EDP needs to do a better job grouping VA clubs together in league play if CCL is to go away. So far EDP has been unable to attract VA based clubs in a meaningful and useful density.

They have expanded to 2 new metropolitan areas and added some pretty strong clubs over the last few years. Where are they struggling?
