Does MU have enough 07s and 06s that the 08s and 09s wont have to play up?
Yes, the partnerships have fixed the issue with lack of young player pipeline.

If you are seriously caring about "top 08 teams' you have issues. These boys have not hit puberty. Heck, they have not even been on an 11 v 11 field for a full season. When they are U16 and not U12 let's gather back here and chat. If you know anything (I stress anything) about soccer, especially boys soccer, much will change over the next few years.
a) this is about girls soccer -- MU doesn't even have boys.
b) many of these players have been playing 11 v 11 a year early. Not a full season, but as much soccer as anyone has played this year....

Yes they have already made offers to girls outside the club. Those are the first to go out.

There has never been indication that the entire 2008 Red team would be offered a spot on DA/GA. There are very talented white and blue players that may be offered a spot. They may also still be recruiting. First round offers already out and rest on a rolling basis. No rush to fill the entire roster now either. Several players from other clubs may be joining.

As for the red team in general, the way their style of play is developing I do not know if Mclean would be a good fit. That said there are some girls on red who would do better in a different system/style of play. Remember they are not really playing soccer yet- small field and 8 field players. Passing and vision become more important at u13 and above.
With the pandemic Arlington(like many clubs) will most likely make offers to the exist red team and a few outside the club girls for GA. I think most stay because it’s safe and many of the parents think it’s a top team(as in playing the top brackets of tournaments).
Arlington is a big club. There are really good girls on the white and blue teams. Remember the blue team beat mclean green and Arlington white. The thing is there are no tryouts right now, Mclean and other clubs will discount them because they are 2nd and 3rd team girls and offers are going out now.
Bottom line I do not see a lot of change in this year group. Now next year maybe
Right there are very talented 08 girls in FCV playing up.
I agree that the teams are likely to stay largely the same. It is difficult to make a move when there are no tryouts. However, the composition of the teams has to change because the roster size will increase with transition to 11v11 game. Arlington will have to make some difficult choices in deciding how to fill the extra spots on the top team without tryouts. Without the DA badge, Arlington will likely struggle to recruit talent from other clubs so maybe the girls from the 2nd and 3rd teams will get an opportunity to move to the top team. Arlington's top team clearly regressed last year, getting outplayed by both VSA (a feeder club to VDA) and Loudoun in the head to head games. I think VDA will be the team to beat in this age group. Arlington, McLean and Loudoun are likely to be in the next tier, assuming that they will retain most of their players and don't add top players from other clubs.

As for the other clubs, VSA clearly the top this year, a distance second to Loudoun(They were out classed by the Strikers), followed by Arlington and Mclean. Arlington struggled against good teams and Mclean seems to actively drive players way. Luck for Mclean they have ENCL.
VSA will combine with PWSI and some outside additions to form the 2008 ECNL team. Our daughter went to tryouts, exciting group for sure.
It looks like 3 out of 4 top local teams in this age group will be in the ECNL. Arlington will have some lopsided scores beating up on FCV (which lost 0-6 to Vienna) and MU in the new league.
Remember to take all FCV scores with a grain of salt as the team that played 2008 in NPL was their 2nd team. Top team played an age up (and had mixed results). That doesn't mean the FCV 2008s will be amazing, but they will be better than they look based on fall game reports.
