Some people need more time to wake up in the morning. Seems like both OP and her son benefit from that time.

I empathize with you OP. My husband does this too. He tries to micromanage my schedule and interactions with the kids. Does your husband have anxiety by chance?

Agreed. You're doing a great job OP. This will help make your kid enjoy his own company and enjoy independent play instead for running to you every minute when he's 3 and 4 and 5. I did something similar with my oldest and she can now play by herself for at least 30 min at a time at 4. Usually longer.
