Why would you be forcing 3 and 5 year olds to do worksheets?! At that age kids learn best through play. Worksheets are not age appropriate.

I would not be comfortable with my kids eating junk and watching tv all day. Nor would I be comfortable with a husband who worked that much - and it sounds like he’s always worked that much.

You don’t have to sit at home all day long. Why does everybody think this? I would also be going insane if I forced my kids to stay inside all day. It is also very unhealthy for them and cruel.
Where are they going to go? No playgrounds. Kids aren’t old enough for bike riding. And it sounds like they have a yard that the kids do play in.
Normally, moms with infants get together with friends, vent about things, take turns holding and helping each other’s kids. None of that is going on.

You need to throw money at this problem! If your DH is a big lawyer, use that money and get some help. Among my friend group - the ones with kids under five are by far the most miserable and you have a newborn dear god!
Do you have a nanny normally? If yes, bring her back - if no, call White House nannies tomorrow and get a nanny - is it more risk? maybe - but you might be able to find one who lives alone an dis taking isolation seriously -

I am so sorry., op! It must be very difficult Give today a rest and go with your plan but, you need to get your DH on board. I wouldn't worry about the worksheets but, the food is an issue. You need to have a come to Jesus moment for your dh. He needs to step up.

I agree with letting go and letting them eat Cheerios and watch paw patrol all day. Make sure baby has a safe place to sleep and you can close your eyes while the kids are watching tv and baby naps (hopefully baby naps!).
I do think at some point introducing chores is a great idea per the PP. I teach preschool and many parents are amazed at what their kids are capable of when they come into my classroom. It may be harder now, but in the long run your life will be easier. Kids need structure and so few of them have it now as a result of being home. And I feel like this quarantine is going to be longer than we think, so it may be worth it.
Keep breathing, sleep whenever you can, and know you’re not alone!
Op here - dh is a lawyer and his firm is “work like normal” and not really giving any leeway for the current circumstances. And surprisingly they are very busy. So he is expected to continue his current case work from home.
