Repeat after me: as parents we are 100% responsible for our children 100% of the time.

That’s super-helpful advice for how to occupy kids while both parents are trying to work at least eight hours a day, thanks.

Umm, this is a very unusual situation, and some parents also have full time jobs they can’t afford to lose.
+1 These types of responses are so ridiculous. I AM taking care of my kids every second of every day while also working full time, preparing 3 meals and snacks for everyone, and cleaning constantly. So maddening.
Back to the OP, we're not getting that much from school right now anyway so we'll just keep doing what we've been doing. Looking forward to it being warmer and spending more time out in our yard (I know we're lucky). I'm also pretty annoyed at this decision and this feels like abandoning the kids without some explanation of why it's being done.
Completely agree. DCPS has not handled the COVID situation well at all.

They are pushing on me pretty hard on getting more screen time, but are picking up both activities to earn that - with lots of verbal harassment. By then they should be used to these expectations 😀
