Many do this OP because many women don't want sex during pregnancy, whether it's hormonal, sick/tired, etc... So, the men look elsewhere. They cannot not have sex for a while six to nine months. That would be unthinkable for them. It's pure selfishness.


I agree with everything above... EXCEPT for that last statement.
Men need sex! It's not a matter of selfishness at all. In fact, it's selfish to offer nothing at all (for many months at a time) AND expect a man to remain sexually faithful.

MY guess is you have self-esteem issues if you believe you being crazy due to hormones caused him to cheat. And you stayed with him.

I was cheated on with the 2nd baby.

My therapist said it was very common for 2nd pregnancies because they think they have you trapped.

DH didn't look elsewhere, but I will say that his attraction for me went to ZERO when I was pregnant. I even thought I was a cute pregnant woman. Just my stomach grew and I glowed. He just wasn't attracted to me sexually. Still loved me a lot, but we basically became best friends for 9 months. No sex, not even once.

I think some of it is that instead of his hot wife, I was "mom" already. It happened with both pregnancies and then he was attracted to me after I gave birth and everything was back to normal.
