SAME. My DH buzzed the 3yo's hair, he made it fun somehow. The 3yo's patience ran out before it was perfect. The next day I went to clean up all the imperfections. #2 is really short! But now a week later I think his hair looks very nice. His hair grows so fast. I was thinking today that I am glad not to be worried about his hair on top of everything else-- at least his hair is in order.

You can cut it, OP, as long as you have some clippers. This was the clearest Youtube video I found for how to do it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84wF27_oA7c. I put my 3 year old DS in front of a video and just went to work. It took a lot longer than at the barber, but I think it came out pretty nice.

Straight hair is much harder! I used to cut friends' hair and that poker straight hair takes practice, my kid's hair is wavy curly and it's a piece of cake. Even if it's uneven, the curl hides it.

For straight bangs on little girls, first brush down with conditioner and let it dry. The hair will hang very straight and stiff. It is a breeze to cut absolutely straight and precise bangs.
Also, it is a breeze to sweep and pick these stiff chunks of hair from the floor.

Actually, it is pretty nice and not at all difficult.

I gave my DH and 2 boys hair cuts last week and they look fine, but think some good techniques would help.

If you mess up his cut, what's the worst that can happen? Who is going to see it? If the whole point is to get the hair off his face, either go with the hair pulled back, or go for the hair cut and see where you get. He may just surprise you.
