The Gospel of Nicodemus describes what happens between Christ’s death and resurrection. During this time, he descended into Hades and pulled up Adam and Eve. This is always part of Lenten services in the Orthodox Church.
Not scripture.

With all the scientific knowledge we now have showing the earth has existed for billions of years you still believe there was an “Adam”?
Actually science tells us there was a Mitochondrial Eve and a Y Chromosomal Adam. Single individuals who we are all descended from through our mothers or fathers.
Hey, also mention these things, why dontcha:
- Mitochondrial Eve is hypothetical and that term is a euphemism
- She and Y Chromosomal Adam may not have lived at the same time
- Science also tells us there were antecedents
- None of this - NONE - is in support of or consistent with biblical scripture or young earth creationism. No. Not yours.

I cannot believe people believe stories that aren't even in the bible

Anonymous wrote:I can’t believe people think of Adam as a real person. Adam is symbolic of man. God didn’t plop a human on earth and name him Adam. I’m a minister. I love sacred scripture. Genesis is beautiful poetry. It’s full of amazing symbolism and allegory. It was not created to be read like a science textbook.
