Subject: Very recent GW delivery experience?
Just an FYI - I was in GW L&D triage last night and while I was fine, my DH was pretty cold with the AC.

Just gave birth at GW. Personally I wouldn't bother with bringing pillows and towels as I had plenty of each unless you have really particular preferences and it would make a big difference with your comfort. Just pack it in your bag and you shouldn't have any trouble using your own stuff. Bring a colorful pillowcase so your pillow doesn't get mixed up with their pillows.

Just gave birth there last week and the lights in my room were automatically nice and dimmed. It was very cozy and not harsh ligth.

I delivered there last year and in the giant L&D rooms where you actually labor there are 3 or 4 sets of lights - you can just put on up-lighting around the edge of the ceiling and turn everything else off.
If you end up needing a C I think it's full flourescent or bust, although I'll admit I didn't ask them to dim the lights.

I was the last person who posted. I delivered ~2 weeks ago. You can have the temperature in your room adjusted (they call the building engineer). I only changed my clothes out of the hospital robe the second day I was there. I was comfortable in a tank top, leggings, and robe. Remember that postpartum sweating is a thing!
Good to know, thanks! I'm actually thinking more about my partner's clothing than mine.

PS I wore a mask until my test came back negative. I wore a very breathable one (the surgical fabric one) I found online at a shop called Suay.

They need the test to be no more than 72 hours old. If you get tested too early, you have to do it again in triage / L&D.
