A few years ago we were in Memphis, which has the one of the world's largest pyramids (who knew) which is a bass pro shops. Seriously. Anyway, there's a restaurant at the top and an observation platform. It's all glass, too.

So we're eating at the restaurant and the kids and I decide to walk onto the observation platform, so we weave through tables and walk toward the open glass door. My 8 year old son and I walk directly toward the door, but my 11 year old DD sort of veers off from us and walks directly into the glass. I mean directly, bonked right off it, with enough noise that diners stop eating and look at us. I lose it completely. We hustle outside and I'm laughing so hard I'm crying and bending over holding my knees. She's mortified but we're all laughing. We still laugh about it years later.

As we were leaving the platform, we stopped and looked at the glass window she bonked into and could see smears where her face and knee just banged right into it.

My son (7) had the flu with a high fever. You know how a fever can mess with your mind because of the brain swelling? Well my son fell asleep in front of the TV and when DH roused him, he stood up, whipped it out, and started peeing on the blanket he was sleeping on, as he stared at the show he had been watching. DH immediately stopped him and DS giggled and went to the bathroom.

DH asked him about it later and he had no recollection of it and was soooo embarrassed. So we don’t bring it up around him but I still think it was hilarious.

She was about 18 months old and had figured out the cubes in the living room had lids and were used to store toys, so she took off the lid, then fell into the box reaching for something and couldn’t get out. All while I was running upstairs to change out of work clothes. I giggled at her kicking feet, got a photo and helped her out. She was not amused.

After she learned to open and close the front door she got stuck between the door and the storm door. I watched as she did it, then heard a little knock and a very quiet “heeeelp? heeelp?”

And then there was the time the dogs tail wagged and got her bare bottom. She wasn’t amused, but I was hiding my laughter while soothing her wounded pride and sore bum!

I went hiking with my 11-year-old last weekend. It's a trail with a lot of little streams you have to cross by walking over rocks. She was behind me and I guess she slipped and fell. She said, "MOM! I fell and a rock went up my butt!"

I said, "don't tell me, your butt has a crack in it now?"

She was not amused.

She's used that joke a few times in the past, so I figured she would be, but... nope.

I did apologize, and she turned out to be fine - she had just banged her tailbone on the rock, leaving no bruises. Now that it doesn't hurt anymore, she admits that my joke was kind of funny. But I'm probably still going to hell.

I blame America's Funniest Home Videos for this. I want to laugh every time DS falls or trips over something. Thankfully he usually has a good sense of humor about it, but not always.

The other day, there was a full laundry basket behind him. He turned to walk away and fell into the basket face first, and the basket kind of flipped on top of him. Then he couldn't get up for some reason. He was so mad at me for laughing.

At a friend's house, a 9yo boy ran through the sliding screen door and broke the whole door out of the door jam. It made such a loud clattering sound. Again, I wanted to laugh hysterically, but the boy was shaken up, and everyone else was very serious and concerned. I suppose that's better than the whole group erupting in laughter at him.

My older about her baby brother as I'm about to put him down for a nap: I hope he sleeps forever. I thought it was funny. She's normally very nice to him but she's still not a fan of having to compete for attention.

She made another similar comment later that I'm trying to recall but I'm having quarantine brain.

6 yr old DS put a big box on his head. It covered most of his body. Before I could finishing say, "Don't walk around like that," He went running into a wall and fell backwards with a thud. All you could see is the box and his feet kicking in the air. It was hilarious! He laughed. We all laughed. No 6 yr olds were harmed in during this hilarious stunt.

My parents have a storm door - it’s like an all glass screen door for the winters in Illinois. I was inside in the foyer and DD was outside in the snow. I was sitting on the floor putting on my boots and all of a sudden I saw her face coming toward me and smashing into the glass. Not hard - she was fine - she did sort of a cheek - face- plant when she tripped on the step.

Yes, I’m horrible. After I realized she was okay I couldn’t stop laughing. She was furious with me but at one point I was laughing so hard, I was crying.

DS was running toward me in socks, all excited, and his feet just went out in front of him and he did a total cartoon fall on his butt. I tried to not laugh but I couldn’t help myself.
