Guess what. If those three days have to be made up, under the contract, teachers were already paid for them in March.
I don't see how that is the case. The previous weeks in March were coded as emergency pay and then the spring break will be coded as holiday pay. So I'm guessing MCPS could still add on dates to the end of the calendar if they get a waiver.

We did have a “snow”’day. I think they will be required to make up all of the 2 weeks - so that’s 6 days because they used 3 days of spring break and have 1 leftover snow day. But the first three days last week didn’t have any student components, so if those don’t count then that’s 9 days they have to make up.
Also, I recall that the BOE said July 3 will be the observed holiday during the traditional calendar, which makes me think there is a possibility we will go past that.
That July 3rd holiday is because that would be the pre-service week for teachers for the schools with the innovative calendar.
And 12-month employees, and ESY for special ed.
Watching people who have zero actual clue how the system works but think they do pontificate is amusing.
It was already there for the 12-month employees. It was approved as the holiday for regular schools if needed. Did you not watch the meeting?

They already had it for the innovative calendar. They added it to the regular calendar.

The White House task force announced that DC area peak may not happen until June/July. I don't think this area will back to normal until August.

MCPS is planning for 8 weeks of online learning, beginning week of 4/20. That takes us through 6/12, which was the last full day of regularly scheduled school. Obviously, things can change depending on the trajectory of the emergency, what Gov. Hogan decides, but that's the current framework.

Guess what. If those three days have to be made up, under the contract, teachers were already paid for them in March.
