My guess above was what waitlist number they will go up to, so more or less number of calls they will make. I think it’s very few compared to prior years just because of common lottery means most people will enroll when offered a spot since they would have ranked it quite high and presumably they thought this through.
I doubt there will be movement across many schools. The coronavirus made me worried about introducing change to my kids. I’d factor that in to be sure.

Oh wow. I thought I remember last year or year before hearing someone got called that was in 40s or 50s. Guess I didn’t know when that was.
The lottery results for SY19-20 and prior weren't solely a waitlist. It included matched students as well. So for PK3, students with list numbers 1-60, for example, were considered matched. The waitlist didn't technically "begin" until #61 and it continued on so it makes sense that before joining the city lottery, numbers in the 40s and 50s were guaranteed spots. All of that to say, they weren't going 40 and 50 spots down their waitlist.

In the past people have gotten called off the WL in the 70s and 80s. But that was across both campuses and (more importantly) when LAMB was its own lottery. This is the first year that LAMB was part of MSDC and so there's no historical data that's exactly on point. Definitely possible that it's the same this year (and WL offers will be made to those in the 40s, 50s, and 60s). I'm PP who said it would only go to 12 on the WL for Kingsbury, so that's not what I'm guessing, but its just that - a guess - and I definitely could be wrong.
I am sorry but it’s actually close to impossible that they will go into the 40s, 50s or 60s.
