I don't micromanage their hair. They will ask for a haircut when they need one.

Same with my daughter and husband. One visits hair salon twice per month, and hubby visits barber almost every week (to trim beard). Though now during quarantine we obviously don't go anywhere and thus now I'm responsible for haircuts and grooming in our family. I had a lot of practice
I also got a pair of cutting shears like this https://hairmadnesssalon.com/best-hair-cutting-shears/ because using standard ones can harm hair badly.

My sons hair is extremely thick and grows incredibly fast.
They both look ridiculous right now. It is way too long over their eyes (they try to slick it back), hanging down over their ears, bushy mess.

New poster here - any specific brand recommendations?
Need to order some for trimming my husband's and tween son's hair. Both like it cut pretty basic, slightly longer on top and shorter on sides and back. Going to check out tutorials.

Bad/poor quality clippers can catch and pull at the hair. It can hurt. Good clippers just glide on through.
