If they play, we will be there. I say a big If though as I believe they are making the decision at the end of next week. I am not sure there will honestly be enough time to have enough people able to be at the fields (between parents, players, coaches, and refs). My guess is that the mid to late August tournaments will most likely be the first events back.

Players will want to play. Parents just don’t want to travel and watch in the heat.

Yes, but not on turf fields in Richmond.

It's been three months since things got shut down, if Jeff Cup is in fact going to happen, the players would rather not play because it's hot and the surface isn't ideal? Maybe I'm wrong but I'd think after three months of being unable to play, the players would be excited to get some games in even on turf fields in Richmond (which I'd consider down the street compared to the NC/SC/FL/TX trips that are required every season).

That’s the last thing I would want to do. People who love soccer watch profession games not Johnny or Jane high school soccer.

Now you're talking about watching soccer--yes, I'd rather watch a professional game on my couch with the AC on than a youth game in late July. But players who love soccer will always want to actually play the game rather than just watch it.

I hear it will be renamed the Confederatate’s Cup and the highlight will be staged riots in Short Pump followed by free Covid testing and pay to ride trips in local police cars, but only if you’re white.

.

So What are you doing in the soccer world if you prefer your DC staying indoors playing video games? It sounds like you and your kid don’t really love the sport. You are some of those parents that would eat sh*t just cause other tell you to eat sh**t or in other words u signed your kid in travel soccer just because your friends also do it. Now you are in the elite team because everyone is eating sh*t and you can’t be behind it.

Nobody is forcing anyone to go. If you don't want to, then don't go.

when was july ever mentioned, other than one person above?

One of the local coaches down in the richmond area told me July was never an option.

Team Managers and Coaches received an email on March 30th. The Girls Showcase was being reworked for July 24-26, but only if they received an "All Clear" from USYS and/or US Club by June 8th. Teams have to confirm participation before June 15th. The likelihood that this happens is probably 0%, but it is still in consideration.

They will have to make changes because I imagine that many teams traveling from outside of the DMV, Carolina or PA/DE will probably withdraw. Also, are local clubs still planning to go given that some of canceled Fall? I know Bethesda is basically done so will they participate.
