Yes- why do you think it took until now for DC to get it’s first positive. Can’t get positives if you aren’t testing. It’s ridiculous. I’m sure coronavirus is relatively rampant around DC given the nature of heavy public transportation reliance, tourists, residents who travel, and close quarters

If it was rampant with a 20% hospitalization rate and a 2-4% death rate, the hospitals would already be overwhelmed with cases and we would be hearing about the slew of deaths and anecdotal stories from the families of all those hospitalized and dying.

It takes 3-4 weeks for symptoms to get bad enough for people to show up at the hospital. Wait a week or two.

The current mean time from first symptom to hospitalization is 7 days.

sorry, what does that mean? are you saying they should be showing up now? or next week?

A U.S Marine assigned to Fort Belvoir, VA tested positive today for COVID-19 and is currently being treated at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital. The Marine recently returned from overseas where he was on official business. Secretary Esper and the White House have been briefed.
