What is the reason for transferring?

My kid is also transferring out. I don't know what you mean by the "hand-holding/community stuff" nor what "ya-yas" are. (What are they?)

If you don't mind sharing, where is she transferring? I'm curious if it's a school she considered as a senior.

I have a kid there. The drop in rank with USNWR occurred when they changed their methodology last year. The school doesn't get the Pell grant students, they really are not that generous with financial aid. They say they meet 100% of your "demonstrated" financial need. Ha ha, what they say you need and what you believe you need are two very different things.

OP did your kid get Davidson?

I have a friend who teaches there and loves her students. She says they are smart and engaged and fun to teach. Great school!

+1 on the above-average kindness, grad school admissions and careers. AND they all loved it and think it's the greatest.

+1 I know many Davidson grads who are in their 40s and 50s. All loved it and think it's the greatest!

of the people I know who went there, one is fairly observant Catholic and one was raised Christian but is not observant at all. They have a Hillel and a Jewish Student Union. So I don't think kids would stick out for not being Presbyterian. It would probably be fine for anyone unless they hate all signs of religion.
