My guess is your daughter is exaggerating the nap thing. Talk to the teacher to get what’s really happening rather than trusting blankly a sensitive 3 year old.

I would probably either complain or not stay at that school at all. My daughter is 6 now but is very shy , I hate when people say that she’s “too big to be shy” but she hears it constantly from strangers, coaches , librarians,etc. She doesn’t like speaking to them at all after that. I don’t think I’d be able to tolerate my kid’s teacher saying this to them especially at 3 years old. And I don’t think she should be forcing them to have their eyes closed either.

Teacher sounds over the top. Would suggest a different environment for your child. And I am a strict parent.

This is similar to my kids kinder spanish class. She taught them to shake hands (currently elbow bumps) and look her in the eye with a greeting. It was a rough start for several kids who just wanted to look down and run in but now its natural for all of them.

Sounds like a toxic situation for your child. Teacher sounds unhinged.

As a preschool teacher I ask that students greet me but they can choose how. If they are feeling shy for some reason I ask if they are ready to greet me. If they shake their heads or give some other indication I let them continue putting away their things, getting started with morning play. If they don't come to me I try again.
