So your preschooler is a normal preschooler. You make them wash their hands and you assume that the other preschoolers are among the billions of people on the planet that are not infected.

The kids heard about it from school so we talked about it. Once they heard kids were fine then they didn't care.

DS is 7. The only time he has mentioned the Corona Virus was when he came home from school and said that the school's plan was for anyone who has traveled to places with the virus should not come to school. That was all.
He has not mentioned. we don't talk about it because there is nothing to be said or done. we increased our food stores, tossed in some more frozen veggies, froze some meat, and bought some more pasta. We are fine on the day to day stuff in the house. So there is nothing for us to do, why talk about it?

9YO knows, gets that mom and dad bought some extra food, and appears completely unconcerned. Mostly this has been a history and vocabulary lesson (etymology of quarantine, history of the plague, ya know, fun stuff LOL). If we wind up quarantined I told her I’ll explain genetics.
5YO is oblivious, not surprisingly. He gets the hand washing but we push that all the time anyway.
DH and I are mostly worried about killing each other if we are quarantined. My kids are like Jack russels, they need to be exercised!!

Or if she is geeky /good with data as some kids are at this age, show her her the pert of the table that shows that kids do not die of it.
