Not if it was property he bought plus paid off pre-marriage and it was in his name. Considering that he was 40 when they married, he was with a prio ex-wife for 17 years, and he already had 4 other children - it’s highly likely.
They were together almost 30 years. Seems very unlikely that they bought nothing and he made no money during that time. I agree what he had pre-marriage (which I would think would have been the bulk of his earnings) should not be hers.
