Sorry to say none.
I’d honestly go to MCPS (people will say it’s bad but it’s not compared to dcps. And do OG tutoring and or Lindamood Bell to supplement. Or lab or sienna or Maclean if you can handle it.
It took us TWO YEARS to sue for tuition for lab and it was draining and hostile the whole way (just finished settlement). Theres zero concern from dcps about the child learning or wellbeing. And have to front all the legal costs. It’s not anywhere as easy as people might reflect here or may have experienced in the past.

You will be hard pressed to "win" a case suing DCPS for Lab school tuition without having been enrolled in a DCPS. Part the of case that people make is that DCPS failed their child.

The district does not support or provide dyslexia training except as on an ad hoc basis. Each year they pay for 6 or staff members to go through the Wilson certification process.

Contact a lawyer. DCPS is so bad that it is not a hard case to prove. Can you post and email and I will reach out.

I think you have a choice here: do you want to spend money on attorneys (and not fully know whether you will win) or do you want to put that money and effort into remediation for your child after school. Time is your real enemy - not DCPS (although it sounds like your child - like nearly every child in DMV with dyslexia - or worse dyscalculia - is being denied FAPE). Basically, this is your choice. We chose to put that money into our child - three times a week. Hard to believe we consider ourselves to be a modern, science based society but there you go. That’s the secret every parent of a dyslexic child knows....

Brian Gruber and Michael Eig have both been successful getting funded placements at lab. DC has good fee shifting statutes, but of course only if you win.

I would try to find an education advocate/ lawyer. Don’t let people on DCUM dissuade you from advocating for your child. I have no idea if this is feasible but don’t be swayed but DCUM posters.
